To provide psychological advice, assessment, formulation and intervention under the supervision of qualified psychologists. To assist in therapeutic programme development. To undertake clinically related administration, audit, data collection and analysis, development of audit/research projects, teaching, training and project work: all under the supervision of qualified psychologists. Advert The Clinical and Forensic Psychology Service at Arnold Lodge is seeking to appoint an Assistant Psychologist to join an enthusiastic and cohesive team of Qualified and Assistant Psychologists. The post could involve working in all three care pathways. It offers the opportunity to develop skills and competencies in a range of areas of forensic mental health. You will work with a specialist multidisciplinary team that values psychological approaches. You will be supported by experienced Clinical & Forensic Psychologists. As part of the role, you will contribute to the development and evaluation of specialist treatment programmes, tailored to the complex mental health and offending behaviour needs of this population. You will be encouraged to conduct service-relevant evaluation / research and promote the team and service as a centre of excellence. The Trust is committed to reducing its carbon emissions, with a specialised Energy and Environmental team working to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, enhance our environmental performance, and achieve our net-zero commitment Detailed job description and main responsibilities To undertake protocol based psychological assessments of patients, including risk assessment and formulation. These can include neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales and semi-structured interviews with patients. To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a patient treatment needs. To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups. To work with other staff to assess patients and provide treatment. To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all patients of the service, across all settings where care takes place. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies. Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary / skill level is below the minimum required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
