About the Role
Wessex Water’s Customer Challenge Group (CCG) plays a vital role in ensuring the company’s business plans and performance reflect the needs and priorities of its customers. As a Technical Report Writer, you will support the CCG by producing clear, accurate, and accessible reports that document the Group’s reviews, challenges, and recommendations on Wessex Water’s performance, customer engagement, and regulatory submissions.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the transparency and accountability of one of the UK’s leading water companies, working alongside experts in customer advocacy, environmental policy, and regulatory affairs.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Draft, edit, and format technical reports, meeting summaries, and position papers for the CCG, including meeting agendas, minutes and actions.
* Ensure reports highlight consumer interests, promoting transparency and providing evidence that customer views have shaped decisions.
* Produce the CCG Annual report which is submitted to Ofwat and published.
* Act as Secretariat support to the Chair, offering technical understanding and experience as appropriate.
* Collaborate with CCG members, including representatives from CCW, Age UK, Citizens Advice, the Environment Agency and academic representatives, to gather insights and feedback.
* Interact with the Wessex Water Audit and Risk Committee, Non-Exec Directors, Auditors and Board members attending meetings as appropriate.
* Maintain version control and documentation archives for all CCG outputs.
* Maintain the challenge log listing out all challenges that the CCG has made and the various outcomes.
* Assist in preparing materials for public consultations and stakeholder engagement.
Prospective candidates should bring experience in a technical report writing environment, ideally within the water, utilities, or public policy sectors. This role will require excellent written communication skills with the ability to understand complex information and challenge as appropriate. It may suit someone with a portfolio who has spent considerable time interfacing with external stakeholders such as auditors and consumer-focused stakeholder groups, potentially in public sector organisations.
