About the Restaurant
The Huntsman, Brockenhurst, New Forest is a busy, food‑led pub with rooms, known for quality seasonal dishes, a strong grill offering, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in running the kitchen day‑to‑day.
* Lead the team and service in the Head Chef’s absence.
* Maintain high food standards and consistency.
* Assist with menu development and seasonal specials.
* Manage stock, GP, and kitchen compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
* Existing Sous Chef or Senior CDP with leadership skills and team development experience.
* Passion for producing quality fresh food in a busy, quality‑led kitchen.
* Great organisational, communication, and hands‑on approach.
* Experience in menu development and food preparation.
* Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen safety.
* Ability to manage kitchen staff rota, training, and health & safety.
* Pro‑active approach to driving sales and delivering growth.
