Community Tutors (Self-Employed)
Location: Toranj Learning Centre (TLC), Hull – within walking distance of Hull Paragon Interchange (main bus and train station)
Rate: £15–£20 per hour

Role Summary
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Tutors to join our team at the Toranj Learning Centre (TLC) in Hull. This role is pivotal in supporting students' academic progress, boosting confidence, and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Tutors are needed across a range of subjects and levels, from Primary through to A-Level, including:
* ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
* English (Primary, Secondary, GCSE, A-Level)
* Maths (Primary, Secondary, GCSE, A-Level)
* Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics – up to GCSE and A-Level)
Responsibilities
* Develop personalised tutoring plans tailored to individual learner needs.
* Provide engaging one-to-one or small group tutoring sessions.
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods as needed.
* Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages engagement.
* Collaborate with parents, carers, and educators to support learner development.
* Maintain accurate records of student performance and feedback.
* Stay up to date with best practices and complete required training.
Qualifications & Skills
* Minimum of A-level qualifications in relevant subjects (degree or teaching experience desirable but not essential).
* Strong subject knowledge in one or more of the listed areas.
* Experience working with children or young people is advantageous.
* Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities (experience with special educational needs is a plus).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A genuine belief in and commitment to the goals and values of Toranj Tuition.
