Salary: Up to £57,000 DOE
Location: Stevenage (Hybrid)
Security Clearance: All candidates must hold British citizenship for security clearance eligibility.
The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and passionate C# Software Engineer to join a leading Weapon System Simulation and Experimentation (WSSE) team. You’ll work on cutting-edge technology that brings together real products, models, and synthetic environments to deliver innovative visualisation, experimentation, and training capabilities across the full product lifecycle.
This is your chance to contribute to the design and development of some of the most advanced defence systems in the world, working collaboratively across disciplines to deliver robust and scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop real-time C# software components for weapon system simulation.
• Integrate hardware with software to create realistic system representations.
• Support visualisation, experimentation, verification and validation of system architectures.
• Apply Agile Scrum methodologies to deliver high-quality, maintainable software.
• Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure technical alignment and delivery.
• Promote continuous improvement through modern development practices and innovation.
What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience in C# and/or C++ software development.
• Background in real-time systems or synthetic/simulation environments.
• Familiarity with Agile, unit testing, and test-driven development (TDD).
• Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• A collaborative, proactive approach to software engineering.
