About the Role
Trigon Recruitment is working in partnership with a specialist provider integrated with Stop Domestic Abuse to recruit a Domestic Abuse Practitioner (Employment Specialist).
This is a community-based role supporting individuals who have experienced domestic abuse to move towards sustainable employment. You will deliver support in line with the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, embedding the IPS Fidelity Scale to ensure a high-quality, evidence-based approach.
We actively welcome applications from candidates with lived experience, including those who have personal experience of domestic abuse or related challenges.
Your main base will be the Stop Domestic Abuse office, with regular travel across Havant, Fareham and Gosport. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload (up to 25 participants) of service users who have experienced domestic abuse, providing personalised, recovery-focused employment support.
Deliver services in line with the IPS model, ensuring practice aligns with the IPS Fidelity Scale, including:
Rapid job search and early employer engagement
Integration with support and treatment services
Person-centred, strengths-based support
Focus on competitive, sustainable employment
Develop tailored action plans to help individuals progress into work. Support participants with:
CV development and job search
Interview preparation
Confidence and motivation building
Identifying and overcoming employment barriers Build strong relationships with local referral and support partners, including:
Jobcentre Plus
Housing associations
Counselling and wellbeing services
Primary and secondary care providers
Community and specialist domestic abuse services
Deliver outreach and attend partner meetings across the community.
Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, embedding employment support within wider recovery services.
Achieve realistic outcomes, with an expectation of up to three job starts per month (depending on caseload size).
Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring, reporting and continuous service improvement.
Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality and trauma-informed practice at all times.
Essential:
Understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed approaches.
Strong ability to build trust with vulnerable individuals.
Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Ability to work independently in a community-based role. Desirable:
Experience delivering employability, IPS, or support services.
Experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
Knowledge or experience of the IPS model.
Experience working within multi-agency environments and local support networks.
