The ITV Pensions team in Preston is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ITV Pension Scheme for its members. The team uses their expertise to coordinate and supervise all aspects of the Scheme.

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our Pensions team on an 18-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Pensions Payroll and Finance Manager, you will ensure the smooth operation of all accounting procedures related to pensions. The successful candidate will play a key role in the effective and efficient processing of the monthly pensioner payroll, maintaining accurate records, resolving queries, and supplying to compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and meticulous individual to give to the delivery of a high-quality pensions payroll service.
Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Maintain accurate pensioner records, including setting up new pensioners and processing changes such as address, bank, savings, and deduction updates.
* Respond to pensioner queries via phone and email in a timely and professional manner.
* Run and reconcile the monthly pension payroll, including submission of BACS and RTI files.
* Process PAYE and third-party payments, including raising deduction cheques.
* Assist with the annual pension increase exercise and ensure payroll manuals are regularly updated.
* Perform regular data validations to ensure high-quality payroll data on the pensions system.
* Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in line with established procedures.
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to payroll policies and procedures at all times.
* Support the Annual Events & Project team with UAT testing and provide admin support on ad hoc projects as the need arises.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
* Proven experience in payroll, ideally gained through a number of years in a similar role.
* Solid understanding of payroll legislation and core compliance requirements.
* Experience within a pension environment is desirable but not crucial.
* Confident and comfortable working in a fast paced environment, with the ability to handle time optimally and meet strict cut-offs.
