Our client, an esteemed entity within the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a proficient Shop Floor Manager to join their dynamic team under an initial 6 month contract position.
Rate : to be discussed on experience, hourly rate insite IR35
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing the team : Lead and develop the team, enabling them to meet operational objectives whilst complying with and enforcing company guidelines for safety and quality.
* Managing production activities : Plan, direct and control production activities, ensuring fulfilment of operational objectives by maximising On Time Start (OTS) and On Time Finish (OTF).
* Developing preventative activities : Enforce preventive measures to minimise occupational and environmental risks.
* Communication : Facilitate effective communication within the team, ensuring clarity of operational objectives and expectations.
* Ensuring team qualifications/certifications : Ensure team members possess requisite qualifications and certifications.
* Complying with Policies and Procedures : Adhere to and enforce established procedures, policies, and systems.
* Identifying Risk : Identify and mitigate potential risks affecting personnel, products, or equipment.
* Analysing Indicators : Use relevant tools to analyse production, maintenance, and quality indicators, and prioritise improvement plans.
* Energise improvements : Lead process and system improvement initiatives within the scope of responsibility.
* Energise meetings : Conduct regular interdepartmental meetings to achieve maximum efficiency.
Job Requirements:
* Experience in a manufacturing supervisory position, ideally Aerospace domain however not essential.
* Knowledge of manufacturing management disciplines such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems.
* Strong IT skills including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Strong oral and written communication skills, able to communicate at all levels within the business.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to develop and motivate a high-involvement team.
* Able to ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
* Ability to work with established Quality standards, processes and procedures.
Desired Characteristics:
* Knowledge of production/manufacturing operations.
* Familiarity with Six Sigma principles.
* Prior experience with regulatory agencies and their requirements.
* Understanding of the products, processes and customer requirements within the aerospace sector.
