Offer description

Join us as a Wealth Planner and become a key member of a group delivering bespoke financial planning solutions to high‑net‑worth and ultra‑high‑net‑worth clients across the UK. Working closely with Private Bankers and Wealth Managers, you will provide bespoke financial advice on pensions, off‑shore bonds, protection and tax‑efficient investments, helping clients achieve their wealth structuring needs. At Barclays, you’ll have access to a network of specialists who will support you in delivering advice.

In this role, you’ll help foster long‑term client relationships and offer highly technical, regulated advice to meet clients’ financial goals, playing a key part in our aspiration to be the investment partner of choice for our clients, their families and the next generation. All advice must comply with UK standards, so you will also navigate the complexities of the UK regulatory framework.

Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to advance your career in a supportive environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow in a dynamic team while directly contributing to our clients’ success.

To be successful as a Wealth Planner, you should have:

* RDR Level 6 Financial Planning qualification
* Previous financial planning experience within a regulated environment
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and stakeholders
* Remarkable relationship management skills, essential for maintaining long‑term client engagement and delivering tailored financial solutions
* Ability to interpret and communicate multi‑layered regulatory requirements effectively, with flexibility to relate to and accommodate a diverse range of personalities
* Sound commercial judgement and a solid understanding of the financial services industry, particularly the business impact of the regulatory environment

Some other highly valued skills may include:

* Attention to detail, especially when reviewing financial documents, client portfolios and regulatory disclosures
* Experience working within a large organisation, understanding multi‑layered structures and cross‑functional collaboration
* Problem‑solving abilities, to assess client needs and develop strategic financial plans
* Digital literacy, including familiarity with financial planning software, CRM systems and data security protocols
* Adaptability and resilience, particularly in navigating regulatory changes and evolving client expectations

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job‑specific technical skills.

This role is based in London.

This role is deemed a certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority – Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or meet internal company benchmarks.

Purpose: To work with clients to provide a world‑class range of investment solutions and products across all asset classes, wealth structuring, lending and banking services.

Accountabilities: Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance. Identification of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, analysis of data obtained from sales figures and customer feedback to support the product development process, and communication of key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings. Response to customer inquiries, resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage. Presentation of the advantages and features of the product to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption. Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as brochures, presentations and online content. Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders. Participation in events, conferences and other networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.

All colleagues will be expected to demonstrate the Barclays values of respect, integrity, service, excellence and stewardship – our moral compass, helping us do what we believe is right. They will also be expected to demonstrate the Barclays mindset – to empower, challenge and drive – the operating manual for how we behave.
