Theatrical Practitioner – Anaesthetics (Vale Hospital)
Permanent, full‑time role in a multi‑specialty hospital in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. 37.5 hours per week, competitive salary depending on experience.
About the Hospital
Vale Hospital is a modern, purpose‑built facility offering 30 in‑patient rooms, two fully digital, ultra‑clean air operating theatres, and a range of specialist services within the Nuffield Health system.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with leading consultants and like‑minded professionals.
* Provide a varied caseload using state‑of‑the‑art technology, equipment and facilities.
* Supervise, support and develop junior staff members.
* Create high‑quality, evidence‑based care and patient experiences.
* Ensure safe administration of anaesthetics and monitor vital signs throughout procedures.
* Maintain a sterile operating environment and adhere to safety protocols.
* Collaborate closely with anaesthetists and surgical teams to optimise patient outcomes.
* Engage with colleagues on the ward and other departments.
* Seek opportunities for continuous growth and personal development.
Qualifications
* Registered with the relevant governing body (e.g. NMC or HCPC).
* Relevant qualifications and post‑registration experience in anaesthesia or operating department practitioner (ODP) roles.
Experience
* Post‑registration experience working as a Theatre Practitioner or ODP in Anaesthesia.
* Demonstrated teamwork across departments with a passion for exceptional patient care.
