Location: Doncaster or Sheffield
We have a great opportunity for two Staff Managers to join us in our Doncaster and Sheffield depots.
The successful candidate will support and deputise for the General Manager to manage all aspects of operational performance including on time performance, delivering excellent customer experience, while managing a governance agenda that supports legislative, process and policy compliance, within the operational excellence framework.
You will engage front line colleagues through effective communication, active listening and recognition. Work within and embed the divisional governance framework set by the Operations Steering Group, ensuring that the operational excellence policies and procedures are adopted within the depot.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire the depot operations team, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
* Drive performance and punctuality, reducing lost miles and delivering key KPIs.
* Support training, induction, and development to build a high-performing, engaged team.
* Foster collaboration across operations, engineering, and service performance teams for a seamless customer experience.
* Manage driver performance, job chats, and employee relations, including absence and disciplinary processes.
* Maintain accurate records and oversee operational costs within budget.
* Build strong relationships with trade unions and external stakeholders.
* Champion continuous improvement and innovation in all aspects of operations.
What we\'re looking for
* Previous management or supervisory experience (within the bus/transport industry preferred).
* Professional knowledge of Road Traffic Act and Employment legislation
* Ability to lead and inspire people to seek and follow operational best practice.
* Knowledge of employment legislation
* Excellent planning and prioritising skills
* Self-motivated with a positive approach to change
