Applications are invited for three fully funded PhD studentships as part of a new NIHR-funded Health Protection Research Focus Award on outbreak-related behaviours. This initiative is a collaborative partnership between King’s College London, University of East Anglia, and the UK Health Security Agency.
Successful Applicants Will Join a Multidisciplinary Team Working On Projects That Address Critical Behavioural Challenges During Infectious Disease Outbreaks. The Studentships Available Are
– Studentship 1: Developing public health advice for farm workers facing an infectious disease outbreak. This project will investigate the unique challenges farm workers encounter in adhering to public health recommendations, such as the use of personal protective equipment and medication compliance.

– Studentships 2 & 3: Helping people to understand their symptoms during a disease outbreak. These projects will explore issues related to how individuals interpret and respond to physical symptoms during outbreaks or pandemics.

Requirements
– A strong academic background in a relevant discipline (e.g., public health, epidemiology, psychology, sociology, or behavioural science)
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Demonstrated interest in health behaviour or infectious disease research
