Consultant Breast Radiologist
Apply for the Consultant Breast Radiologist role at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, based within the Breast Centre at University Hospital Llandough and Breast Test Wales.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist breast radiology services, including mammography reporting, breast and axillary ultrasound, image‑guided biopsy and MRI reporting.
* Conduct symptomatic and screening breast assessment clinics and actively participate in the breast multidisciplinary team (MDT).
* Teach medical students, radiology and surgical specialist registrars and support the training of allied health professionals undertaking extended roles within breast services.
* Engage in flexible working arrangements and variable weekly timetable planned with workload meetings.
Qualifications
* Either on the Specialist Register or a Specialist Registrar with expected CCT within six months of interview.
* Competence in mammography, breast and axillary ultrasound, image‑guided biopsy, MRI reporting and experience in procedures such as vacuum‑assisted biopsy/excision, pre‑operative localisation techniques and stereotactic core biopsy desirable.
* Current or most recent employment as a substantive Consultant or Locum Consultant for more than 12 months must provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.
* Names and contact details of referees covering at least the last three years of employment/training history required.
Salary
£110,240 to £160,951 per annum.
Contract and Working Pattern
Full‑time with consideration for applicants requiring flexible working arrangements.
