Job Purpose
What will you be doing?
We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Transactions tax team in London, which is responsible for providing high quality transactions tax services to our varied portfolio of corporate clients and private equity houses. This role requires an experienced transaction tax operative who is comfortable leading a range of tax due diligence, both buy side and sell side, and tax structuring assignments
As Associate Director your responsibilities will include among others
* Manage the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and a commercial approach is taken
* Leading on tax due diligence including reviewing businesses for existing and potential tax issues from both a buy-side and sell-side perspective
* Leading on tax structuring to help clients ensure their operations are structured in a tax efficient manner e.g. steps to ensure tax efficient acquisitions or disposals for clients buying/selling businesses and implications of entity and shareholder level taxes
* Support with pre and post deal services, including assisting clients with pre-acquisition re-structuring and implementing new tax planning ideas
* Building and maintaining key client relationships by delivering excellent client service
* Council and develop junior staff by delegation and on the job training
* Identifying and driving opportunities -use insights gained from knowledge sharing sessions, technical training and existing projects to develop new opportunities
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have
* Extensive experience of UK transactions tax including leading tax due diligence and structuring engagements for buy-side and sell-side transactions, financial due diligence and SPA advisory
* Significant corporate tax experience gained within the profession or industry as well as being a technically capable tax adviser who is able to manage complex client work
* Demonstrable experience of managing people and clients
* Existing business development skills and appetite to grow business
* Project management experience
* Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders both internally and externally
Professional Qualifications and Education
* UK Qualified accountant (ACA) and/or UK tax advisor (CTA) or UK solicitor
