YHROCU Regional Organised Crime Unit
Location: based within South Yorkshire
One Fixed term position for 12 months - with the potential to become permanent.
1 Full time position (37 hours per week)
Applications are invited from highly motivated and innovative individuals seeking a unique and rewarding career within Yorkshire & Humber’s Regional Organised Crime Unit (Covert Operations) in the pursuit of protecting children and the eradication of online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join YHROCU Covert Operations as a dedicated Imagery Officer working at the cutting edge of covert policing whilst targeting those presenting most serious risk of harm to children across the Yorkshire and Humber Region.
Working as an integral part of our dedicated Online CSAE Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting covert investigations through the exploitation of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) to facilitate production of still images and moving footage for use on the internet and social media platforms.
On appointment, you will be supported towards becoming a subject matter expert in the generation of imagery for law enforcement purposes whilst developing and maintaining working relationships with other national and international agencies, establishing best practice and securing operational legitimacy to ensure that YHROCU remain at the forefront of online CSAE investigations.
Whilst prior experience of working within a covert law enforcement environment may be beneficial, the ideal candidate must have a passion for innovation and technology, be prepared to operate within a child protection arena and should be suitably qualified in the manipulation / creation of moving and still images via traditional photography, Generative AI and other emerging digital capabilities.
The position is initially advertised on a 12-month fixed term contract with the potential to move towards a permanent post upon confirmation of suitability and operational competence within role.
To be considered for this vacancy, candidates must also undertake and pass Management and Security Clearance Vetting
Core hours are Monday to Friday 0700 x 1500. Although some flexibility may be afforded and occasionally requested to service ongoing CSAE investigations with elevated levels of risk.
