Due to a period of growth and Orthopaedics being our biggest specialty with at least 2-3 lifts Monday to Saturday, we are seeking an Orthopaedic Team Leader to join our theatre department on a full-time basis.
As an Orthopaedic Team Leader, you will oversee a dedicated team and will be supported by a Theatre Manager as well as another Orthopaedic team leader. Working as part of this friendly and supportive team, you can expect to assist patients undergoing a variety of elective procedures.
You will be passionate about service improvement and driven to succeed in your career by completing your SFA course, if you do not already hold this. We encourage and support your development and progression, offering fully funded courses with full support from your Theatre Manager and Senior Management Team.
* Support the Theatre Manager to lead, teach, counsel, and appraise staff to ensure development needs are identified and met. Implement personal development plans to meet ongoing development needs.
* Supervise and educate junior staff, RGN's, ODP's, and carry out clinical supervision.
* Contribute to the overall advancement of the Operating Department to promote excellence in clinical care.
* Act as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise, and leading, managing, and delivering excellence in clinical care.
* Prepare the operating theatre for surgery, including instrumentation, equipment, and supplies required for specific procedures, ensuring waste is minimized.
* Assess patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
Who we're looking for
* Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
* Experience working in teams with minimal supervision
* Previous leadership experience is advantageous; we offer award-winning training and CPD
* HCPC or NMC registration
* At least 2 years of orthopaedic scrub experience
* You must be passionate, driven, and able to demonstrate dynamic thinking
* Completion of SFA training is an advantage
Working Hours: Full Time, Monday - Saturday, no nights
Contract Type: Permanent
