The cottage is a charming, intimate experience where visitors and community groups are welcomed into Coleridge’s world to get a glimpse of how he lived and worked.You’ll be reporting to the General Manager and sit on the Property Leadership Team, working closely with colleagues from Visitor Experience, Facilities, Gardens, Collections & House and the Watermill at Dunster Castle, and the Coleridge Cottage team, to ensure that the Portfolio runs smoothly.This is a busy place, with a lot going on, and you’ll find that no two days are the same. Generally, you’ll be supporting day-to-day operations, covering a wide range of duties. You’ll respond to visitor enquiries via email and phone, and support the Heads of Department in ensuring the Portfolio stays up to date with its health and safety and compliance tasks. You’ll help the Property review and prepare key procedures, including the Emergency Plan, and ensure the Portfolio’s key statistics, such as visitor numbers, are kept up to date.You'll manage the Portfolio’s petty cash and support end-of-year financial tasks. You’ll also assist with the Portfolio’s climate and environmental planning and prepare the quarterly Property News update to keep staff and volunteers informed. Providing support to the Facilities team will also be part of your role, including help with planning, scheduling, and obtaining quotes.Additionally, you’ll organise required training for the Portfolio, such as First Aid and Fire Safety training, and arrange the Annual Volunteer and Staff Meeting.
