Location: Basingstoke
Working Hours
40 hours per week
* Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30
* Friday: 07:30 – 14:00
Pay
Up to £17.50 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector with strong manual measurement and numeracy skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in CNC machining and precision manufacturing environments.
Education & Experience
* Advanced Apprenticeship or Higher Education qualification in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
* Proven experience as a Mechanical/Quality Inspector in a CNC or precision engineering environment (essential)
Key Skills & Knowledge
* Proficient with handheld measuring tools, linear height gauges, bore gauges, surface finish testers, etc.
* Strong numeracy and attention to detail
* Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
* Knowledge of quality systems (preferably AS9100)
* CMM operation experience (Mitutoyo preferred)
* Excellent communication and time management skills
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Perform goods-inwards, in-process, and final inspections using various tools and techniques
* Conduct routine visual and dimensional inspections for surface defects and other quality criteria
* Produce inspection reports and complete Certificates of Conformance (CofCs), FAIRs, and customer QA documentation
* Raise NCRs when necessary and support the 8D process
* Verify processing in accordance with route cards
* Assist in maintaining an accurate and up-to-date calibration system
* Collaborate with section leaders and production teams to ensure accurate documentation
* Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Inspection Team Leader and Head of Quality Improvement & Assurance
