Empowering Learning are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASD), and complex needs at a well-established specialist school in Surrey.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to work in a highly supportive, specialist educational setting. The role is full-time, with the potential for temporary-to-permanent placements or fixed-term contracts for the right candidates.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapy teams to support pupils with a range of complex needs. Responsibilities will include providing one-to-one and small group support, assisting with classroom activities, and helping students develop independence, communication, and social skills.
Many pupils require structured learning, sensory support, and personal care, so candidates should be patient, proactive, and comfortable supporting children with varying levels of need.
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will:
Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ASD, SLD, or complex needs (school experience preferred but not essential)
Be reliable, patient, and nurturing, with a strong ability to build positive relationships
Be comfortable supporting pupils with personal care if required
Be able to work full-time (Monday to Friday)
Be enthusiastic about supporting pupils with additional learning needs
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must:
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
Provide two professional references that can be contacted
Have the right to work in the UK
