Teaching Assistant Level 4 - GR06 - 1510
Job description
2 x Temporary Teaching Assistants Level 4
27.5 hours per week/39 weeks per year
Starting date Tuesday 1st September 2026
The Governing Body wishes to appoint two skilled and adaptable practitioners to join our school from September. One role will support our older pupils, and one will support our younger pupils.
Both roles will focus on the day-to-day delivery of our morning ‘Nook’ settings, supporting pupils with additional learning needs through targeted provision linked to their Individual Development Plans (IDPs). This will involve working with pupils individually, in small groups, and within a structured, supportive environment to help them access learning and achieve their full potential.
The successful candidates will work closely with our ALNCo team, who will lead planning and overall provision. The ALNCos will spend part of the week in the ‘Nook’, and the postholders will play a key role in delivering high-quality support throughout the week, including leading the settings when needed.
During the afternoon, successful candidates will be expected to support and enhance provision across the wider school, bringing a particular interest, skillset, or approach that enriches pupils’ experiences.
We welcome applications from candidates who may not yet hold a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification but are willing to work towards this, with support provided.
The successful candidates will:
1. have experience of working with children with additional learning needs and a strong understanding of how to support their development
• deliver targeted provision linked to IDPs, adapting approaches to meet pupils’ strengths and needs
• be confident in the day-to-day organisation and smooth running of a provision
• work collaboratively with the ALNCo team, class teachers, families, and external agencies
• be resilient in challenging situations and committed to achieving the best outcomes for the pupils of Sandfields Primary School
