The role of Housing Officer will include:
1. Responsible for a patch consisting of general needs, homes for older people and affordable housing properties
2. Effective management of anti-social behaviour cases
3. Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties
4. Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels
5. Managing complaints about service delivery
6. Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
7. Delivering general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability
8. Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting tenant welfare including domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour, and safeguarding
9. Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes, which include tenancy conversions, permissions, mutual exchanges, successions, service charges and enforcement of tenancy breaches
Skills and experiences:
10. Proven experience of undertaking a similar role
11. Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
12. Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
13. Excellent communication and customer care skills
14. Proven experience of good practice resident involvement activities
15. Excellent understanding of written and spoken English
16. Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
17. Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

28. Role salary is £32,887 (rising to £34,617 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
