Background
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Lecturer in Educational Psychology who has professional, academic and teaching experience in Educational Psychology and related areas of our curriculum such as child development. We are a thriving, research intensive department that delivers high standards of teaching through innovative pedagogy. We have excellent laboratory infrastructure to support our research and teaching and are proud to be ranked within the top Psychology Departments in London in the recent NSS.
Responsibilities
The post holder will primarily be expected to contribute to taught modules of our undergraduate programmes in Psychology, and Psychology with Criminology, but may also be involved in teaching on one of our PG programmes such as the MSc Conversion Programme. The post holder will also perform the role of personal tutor to students, supervise dissertations, contribute to departmental administrative duties, design and mark coursework assessments, and contribute to team, departmental, and student events and meetings.
Person Specification
The candidate should be able to deliver engaging and high-quality teaching and supervision in Educational Psychology that is tailored to diverse student needs and informed by research, innovative pedagogy and scholarship as demonstrated through engagement with the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and supporting learning in Higher Education. Candidates must have an honours degree in a related discipline, a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Educational Psychologist.
