Overview
The Radiology Quality and Governance Lead is a pivotal senior role within the Radiology department, responsible for driving and sustaining excellence in the quality of radiological services provided across the Trust. This position demands a strategic thinker and proactive leader who will implement and oversee robust quality management systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and national standards such as IR(ME)R and IRR.
Main duties of the job
Working collaboratively with the Radiology management team, clinical staff, and wider Trust governance structures, the post holder will spearhead initiatives aimed at continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and service efficiency. They will lead on critical areas such as radiation protection, dose optimisation, equipment quality assurance, and audit programmes, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and no-blame learning.

Job responsibilities
The role includes managing and coordinating responses to external inspections and accreditations, guiding the department through complex governance processes while maintaining clear communication channels between all stakeholders, including patients, clinicians, and regulatory bodies.
Beyond operational management, this role is instrumental in staff development, delivering training and mentorship on quality management principles, risk assessment, and compliance standards, ensuring the Radiology team is equipped to uphold the highest standards in service delivery.
