Our client is a growing financial services business based just outside Glasgow city centre. As a Credit Applications Analyst, you will assess finance applications on a case-by-case basis, using a blend of data analysis and professional judgment. The role involves making credit decisions that balance customer affordability with company risk appetite, in a regulated and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate applications by reviewing credit reference data, affordability indicators, and vehicle criteria using tools such as credit bureaus, Glass’s Guide, and CIFAS.
* Make sound, policy-aligned decisions within the scope of delegated authority.
* Conduct due diligence checks including trace, fraud prevention, and AML monitoring.
* Record comprehensive notes and any sanction conditions in line with internal processes.
* Maintain GDPR compliance and ensure customer data is handled securely and appropriately.
* Report any suspicious activity in accordance with anti-fraud and AML procedures.
* Identify and communicate areas for improved operational or customer efficiency.
* Provide a professional and empathetic service when interacting with internal teams or external stakeholders.
* Ensure information provided is accurate and confidential, and follow through on agreed actions.
* Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Previous experience in financial services.
* Ability to analyse and interpret credit reference data.
* Comfortable working under pressure in a high-volume, target-driven environment.
* Strong attention to detail with analytical and numerical capability.
* Flexible, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
* Prior underwriting experience.
* Studying towards or holding a qualification in Finance, Risk, or a related field.
