The Academic Account Manager has dual responsibilities:
* Growing new and renewal revenue in their region.
* Promoting the use of Ansys simulation tools in universities for research and teaching activities.
The manager maintains regular contact with key university advocates, IT groups, and professors to ensure the sale and adoption of Ansys tools. They collaborate closely with Ansys teams to achieve revenue and adoption goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Execute the Sales and Adoption Plan for their region
* Develop and implement strategies to increase adoption through on-site and online meetings, events, conferences, and other activities fostering long-term academic use of Ansys tools.
* Achieve quarterly and annual revenue goals.
* Coordinate with Customer Excellence, Academic Development, and Corporate Development teams to provide efficient technical support to academic customers.
Drive the territory's academic revenue strategy and its implementation
* Identify and prioritize universities for adopting Ansys Campus-Wide Solutions.
* Maximize revenue through new business and multi-year deals.
* Develop account maps and strategic plans for key universities.
* Work with Sales Operations to ensure license renewals and identify growth opportunities.
* Provide activity reports, revenue forecasts, and pipeline updates.
Champion the inclusion of Ansys in research activities
* Identify key research groups for Ansys adoption.
* Organize and participate in events to promote Ansys in research groups and minimize competition.
* Identify opportunities to deploy the full portfolio of Ansys tools in research settings.
* Maintain relationships with key research groups with the Academic Program team.
Champion the inclusion of Ansys in curriculum and student activities
* Identify universities for curriculum integration.
* Organize presentations and demand-generation events for faculty and students.
* Ensure regular inclusion of Ansys in courses, supporting steady adoption.
* Participate in influential groups such as IEEE and SEFI.
* Manage student teams and ambassadors, providing access to products and training, and leveraging contacts to find new opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
* At least 3 years of sales experience.
* Basic knowledge of company's products, services, and pricing.
* Excellent sales, communication, and organizational skills.
* Professional appearance and presentation skills.
* Willingness to travel at least 50% to universities.
Additional Qualifications
* Engineering degree or equivalent training preferred.
* Proven sales ability.
* Duties may be modified as needed.
