What you will be doing
As our Sports Coach, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality PE, sport and physical activity across the school. You will:
1. Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and safe sports sessions for individuals, small groups and whole classes.
2. Support teachers and tutors to ensure all pupils can access physical activity confidently and independently.
3. Use sport to build positive, restorative relationships with pupils, including those with autism, SEMH needs and other additional needs.
4. Promote teamwork, resilience, communication and self-esteem through structured physical activity.
5. Create a safe, stimulating and respectful environment rooted in mutual trust.
6. Adapt activities to meet the strengths, needs and interests of all pupils.
7. Support school sports events, clubs, competitions and enrichment activities.
8. Maintain equipment, resources and activity spaces to a high standard.
9. Provide feedback on pupil engagement, behaviour and progress.
This role is perfect for someone who believes in the power of sport to inspire, motivate and transform.
What you will bring
10. Minimum Level 2 sports coaching or equivalent required
11. Thrive in a fun, energetic and sometimes challenging environment.
12. Have a passion for building strong, restorative relationships with young people.
13. Be resilient, approachable and calm under pressure.
14. Be creative and committed to bringing out the best in every pupil.
15. Understand the needs of pupils with SEND, autism and SEMH, or be eager to learn.

About Us
Groveside School is a Special Educational Needs School for Pupils 7 - 16 years old with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Our school opened in September 2024 and will cater for 60 pupils.
