As an Apprenticeship Coach – Electronics you’ll play a vital role delivering workplace-based learning, coaching, and assessment to help apprentices successfully complete their programmes. Apprenticeship Coach – Electronics
Duties & Responsibilities
* Manage and support a caseload of MOD / Army Electronics Technician apprentices from enrolment through to End Point Assessment (EPA).
* Deliver structured coaching aligned to the apprenticeship standard, supporting development of technical, professional, and military-aligned behaviours.
* Guide apprentices in developing competence in electronics systems, diagnostics, fault-finding, testing, and maintenance within a defence engineering context.
* Conduct regular progress reviews with apprentices and line managers to ensure learning aligns with workplace duties and operational requirements.
* Ensure apprentices meet off-the-job training requirements and maintain compliance with ESFA and MOD contractual standards.
* Assess on-programme evidence and portfolios, ensuring accuracy, quality, and readiness for EPA.
* Prepare apprentices for EPA through mock assessments, professional discussions, and portfolio reviews.
* Maintain accurate and secure learner records on e-portfolio and MIS systems, ensuring GDPR and MOD data protection requirements are met.
* Monitor apprentice performance, attendance, and conduct, escalating concerns and implementing support plans as needed.
* Promote a strong culture of safety, safeguarding, equality, diversity, and adherence to MOD values and standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Avionics, or related engineering discipline
* Assessor qualification (or willingness to work towards) such as TAQA / A1 / CAVA
* Functional Skills / GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
* Internal Quality Assurer qualification (IQA / V1 / TAQA)
* Teaching or coaching qualification (or willingness to work towards), e.g., Level 3 Award in Education & Training (AET)
* Recognised military technical training (e.g., REME, RAF, Royal Navy engineering background)
* Safeguarding and Prevent training
Security Requirements
* Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance
* Enhanced DBS (EDBS) required
