Our first home, KYN BICKLEY, opened in February 2023. KYN BICKLEY is an 86-bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining; and inviting outdoor terraces overlooking landscaped gardens bordered by woodland. About the opportunity:
As a Assistant Hospitality Manager you will be responsible for:
1. Supporting the Hospitality Manager in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
2. Assisting the Life Enriching Activity Lead/Life Enriching Activity Co-ordinators in implementing a whole home approach to the provision of meaningful occupation for all residents.
3. Leading from the front in an operational and hands-on role.
4. Delivering a five-star hospitality service to residents and their family members.
5. Managing the bar and waiting team to provide the highest quality of service.
6. Completing audits, stock and rota management.
7. Ensuring health and safety/food safety standards are managed and adhered to.
8. Building relationships with residents to understand their individual needs.
9. Being accommodating and flexible to the requests of residents and their families.
10. Ensuring compliance with the KYN allergen policy and associated legislation.
11. Developing, implementing and reviewing hospitality service standards.
12. Responding to resident complaints quickly and professionally.
13. Ensuring adherence to KYN's Complaint Policy and Procedure.
14. Pre-empting signs of dissatisfaction from residents and relatives.
15. Ensuring hospitality sections/areas are presented in line with company standards.
16. Actively seeking feedback from residents and relatives.
17. Writing team rotas with management agreement.
18. Ordering and accepting deliveries in accordance with company policy.
19. Adhering to all opening and closing standards.
20. Maintaining brand standards as per the Brand Standards Manual.
21. Achieving company standards on financial audits.
22. Recognising and rewarding excellent performance within the Hospitality Team.
23. Reviewing team appraisals with the Hospitality Manager.
24. Assisting in planning and organising team meetings.
25. Communicating important company information to the team.
26. Assisting with the recruitment and selection of the team.
27. Assisting with on-job training as required.
28. Monitoring compliance with mandatory training across the hospitality team.
29. Assisting the Hospitality Manager in conducting annual appraisals.
30. Taking responsibility for personal development and career paths.
31. Providing hands-on support to hospitality teams.
32. Building and maintaining relationships between the Kitchen and front of house teams.
33. Implementing budget, margin, and labour controls.
34. Ensuring completion of end of day and banking procedures.
35. Interpreting KYN and brand objectives with the team.
36. Managing Beverage stock in line with KYN's policy.
37. Deputising in the Hospitality Manager's absence.
38. Serving alcohol responsibly and adhering to licensing terms.
39. Complying with KYN's dress code while on duty.
40. Being responsible for health and safety under Health and Safety regulations.
41. Reporting any hazards to the person in charge.
42. Complying with COSHH regulations.
43. Attending all statutory training sessions.
44. Adhering to all KYN's policies and procedures.
About you:
1. Experience in a similar role within a care home or 4-5-star hospitality venue.
2. A professional with a proven history of delivering and maintaining high standards.
3. Experience in managing Hospitality systems, such as point of sales.
4. A confident individual with a hands-on approach.
5. Experience in implementing allergens and Health & Safety procedures.
6. Observant with the ability to anticipate residents' needs.
7. Organised with strong communication and influencing skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and flexibly.
9. Compassionate, empathetic, and caring individual.
10. Approachable with a hands-on attitude.
11. Good financial understanding to contribute to business KPIs.
