We’re looking for a dedicated SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people! The Role: In this role, you’ll work closely with students who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as those with special educational needs, helping them overcome barriers and thrive in a supportive, trauma-informed environment. This is a community special school that supports children and young people aged 4 to 19 years with a wide range of complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The main areas of need include: Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Complex learning difficulties Communication and interaction need Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges Additional needs that may include sensory processing difficulties and medical conditions requiring tailored support The school operates as a trauma-informed environment and provides highly individualised education programs, therapies, and interventions to meet each pupil’s needs. It also uses a total communication approach, meaning staff employ multiple communication methods to support pupils effectively.
