Job Overview
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with daily living activities and providing compassionate care in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private homes. Responsibilities
* Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
* Provide personal care and support to individuals in group homes, nursing homes, or home care settings.
* Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health condition while maintaining accurate records as per HIPAA regulations.
* Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences.
* Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being.
* Assist with medication administration and ensure compliance with prescribed regimens.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization within the living environment to promote safety and comfort.
* Provide support for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism, or other developmental disabilities through direct support techniques.
* Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care is provided.
Skills
* First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
* Experience in group home settings or assisted living facilities is highly desirable.
* Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status or behavior.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
* Experience in cooking and meal preparation tailored to dietary needs.
* Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment.
* Familiarity with caregiving practices for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
* Understanding of memory care strategies for patients with cognitive impairments.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
