Apply for the Retirement Living Officer (Part-time) role at Midland Heart. This part‑time position requires 14 hours per week across a minimum of three days, with flexible start and finish times that can be discussed with suitable candidates.
The role covers two retirement living schemes in Lichfield: Uxbridge Court (a sheltered scheme of 23 apartments) and Samuel Close (10 leasehold/bungalows). Your duties will support the independent living of tenants at both sites.
Responsibilities
* Manage compliance including building safety, safeguarding, fire safety, health and safety, and ensure that schemes are safe, secure and thriving communities.
* Achieve high customer satisfaction by developing and maintaining positive relationships with tenants, regularly interacting with them to deliver key messages and understand their needs.
* Act as the responsible person on scheme(s), representing Midland Heart in emergencies or customer queries.
Qualifications
* Experience working in Housing Management, or a fast‑paced customer service/relations role, with a keen interest in a career in Housing Management.
* Experience carrying out building safety/compliance checks.
* Proficient IT skills (Microsoft packages and in‑house systems), with the ability to write letters to customers, report repairs and complete online training.
* Highly organised and able to balance multiple tasks in a varied role.
* Enjoy delivering a brilliant customer service, confident interacting with diverse people and bringing a positive approach to challenges.
Training
We are happy to provide training for candidates with no prior Housing or Building Compliance experience who are willing to learn and have a keen interest in pursuing a career in Social Housing.
Additional Information
Residents value face‑to‑face interaction, so you will need to be onsite at Uxbridge Court when required. Limited office facilities mean the remainder of your time will be worked from other local Midland Heart schemes or from home. You must be willing and able to travel between Uxbridge Court, Samuel Close and surrounding areas.
