We are seeking a Learning Support & Personal Care Assistant to join a school in Haywards Heath, providing vital support for pupils with additional learning and personal care needs.

About the Role
As a Learning Support & Personal Care Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and with their personal care needs. Working closely with teachers and the SEN team, you will provide one-to-one or small group support, promote positive behaviour, and help pupils access the curriculum effectively. Your support will directly contribute to improving pupils’ learning outcomes and overall confidence.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN or additional needs
* Assist pupils with personal care tasks, where necessary
* Support classroom activities and ensure pupils can engage fully with lessons
* Implement behaviour management strategies and promote positive behaviour
* Record and monitor pupil progress, reporting to teaching staff as required
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to deliver individualised learning plans
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs
* Understanding of personal care requirements and best practices
* Ability to implement behaviour management strategies
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a professional approach when supporting pupils
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet individual pupil needs
