Role Description
The Operations Accountant is a member of the finance team responsible for delivering the monthly accounts for the business. The main purpose of this role is to inform, challenge, and support the business in achieving its objectives through the provision and interpretation of key management information. You will lead in ensuring the finance team’s development and delivery strategies are met by implementing, challenging, and supporting team initiatives. Additionally, you will deputise in the absence of the Finance Lead, representing the business at review meetings and budget presentations.
Skills And Experience
* Deliver accurate cost of sales performance reporting and analysis with variances to budget/forecast, fully understood and effectively communicated to site management.
* Collaborate with teams to investigate adverse operational variances and develop countermeasures.
* Assist departments on-site to improve invoice FTPR and conduct root cause analysis.
* Work with production managers to identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Participate actively in site projects to drive continuous improvements and meet site objectives.
What You Will Need
* Recognised accountancy qualifications (ACCA/CIMA preferred).
* Strong analytical and numerical skills.
* Results-driven with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships across a matrix organisation.
* Extensive knowledge of Management Accounting, preferably within a manufacturing organisation.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
* SAP and BI experience are advantageous.
