A fully qualified Accountant will join the team to provide accurate, timely and insightful financial information to advise managers and clinicians.

Main Duties of the Job
* Produce accurate, timely monthly financial and performance management information, including monthly management accounts for the Group(s).
* Calculate accruals, prepayments and adjustments; maintain audit trail by adhering to trust financial procedures and IFRS.
* Quality check month‑end reports for accuracy.
* Produce year‑end financial projections for budget management.
* Supervise Assistant Management Accountants and Management Accountancy Assistants, delegating tasks appropriately.
* Produce monthly variance reports and graphs to explain in‑month and year‑to‑date financial variances.
* Present complex financial and performance information at Group(s) Management Team meetings, Divisional Board meetings, and one‑to‑one meetings with budget holders.
* Ensure that monthly financial performance information is communicated to budget holders and any issues raised are addressed in a timely manner.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified member of CCAB.
* Completion of evidence‑based ongoing Continuing Professional Development as per CCAB guidelines.
Experience
* Significant relevant experience in a financial management role in a large, complex organisation, including business planning and investment appraisal.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of Financial and Management Accounting, including IFRS.
* Good understanding of NHS key targets and performance management framework.

* Effective verbal and presentation skills, able to explain complex financial issues to non‑financial staff.

* Autonomous decision‑making, recognising when escalation is required.
* Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Initiative, prioritisation, delegation and problem‑solving capabilities.
* Comprehensive IT skills, including financial systems, general ledgers, Microsoft Office and spreadsheet/database management.
* Standard keyboard skills.
* Commitment to Continuing Professional Development and staff training.
* Professional appearance and integrity.
* Reliable, punctual, proactive approach, with the ability to travel between hospital sites.
