Overview
This role is an operational community payback supervisor who directly oversees work groups of offenders serving a community sentence. The supervisor may drive service vehicles to transport people or equipment and is responsible for all site supervision tasks, ensuring that work activities are completed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise up to seven hours of unpaid work placements, ensuring activities are carried out safely and effectively.
* Lead, motivate, and support community service users, fostering good practice and responsible behavior.
* Manage logistics and transport, including driving service vehicles where required.
* Conduct briefings, progress checks, and post-activity debriefs with offenders and team members.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents and progress of service users.
Working Pattern & Conditions
* Regular weekday work balanced with frequent weekend and evening shifts.
* Weekend work is essential and paid at a 50% unsocial hour enhancement rate.
* Work is scheduled to accommodate carers and relief during the working week.
* Rest breaks may be flexible due to operational demands, with wellbeing support made available.
Requirements
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence – automatic driving licences are not accepted.
* Right to work in the United Kingdom.
* Good communication skills and the ability to motivate and support offenders.
* Experience in community or social work roles is desirable but not mandatory.
Benefits & Pay
* Starting salary of £26,475, rising through the Civil Service pay band.
* Annual pay progression available via the Competency Based Framework (CBF).
