Job Description
Role: Employment Solicitor Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire Salary: £37,000 Contract: Full time, permanentWe are seeking a Newly Qualified Employment Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a highly regarded Employment Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for an NQ looking to build a career in claimant employment law within a supportive and well-established practice. You will gain hands-on experience managing your own caseload, while receiving guidance from experienced lawyers, working across both advisory and contentious matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a claimant-focused employment law caseload with appropriate supervision, including:
o Settlement agreements
o Unfair dismissal claims
o Discrimination matters
o Equal pay disputes
o Contractual issues
o Redundancy and TUPE advice
* Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients from initial enquiry through to resolution
* Assist with and conduct employment litigation, including preparation for Employment Tribunal and court proceedings
* Draft key legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, and settlement agreements
* Support case strategy and contribute to achieving positive client outcomes
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, transport, engineering, healthcare, education, public sector, and commercial businesses
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the continued success of the team
About You
* Newly Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (or due to qualify shortly)
* Previous experience in employment law during your training contract is essential
* A genuine interest in claimant employment law and litigation
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload
* Excellent communication and client care skills
* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
