The Opportunity Are you an Electrical Maintenance Engineer ready to step off the tools full-time and into a more design-led role, without losing the hands-on element? This is a fantastic opportunity for engineers from a food manufacturing background who have gained exposure to EPLAN and want to develop their career in electrical design. You’ll still stay close to the shop floor, working practically with machinery, panels, and systems, but with a growing focus on design, schematics, and project involvement. You’ll be supported in making the transition from maintenance into a fully-fledged Electrical Design Engineer, working on bespoke machinery from concept through to build and commissioning. Key Responsibilities * Produce electrical schematics and control panel designs using EPLAN * Support the design and specification of components, cabling, and systems * Work hands-on with panel builds, wiring, and machine integration * Assist projects from concept through to installation and commissioning * Collaborate with internal engineering and project teams * Provide technical input based on real-world maintenance experience * Occasional customer interaction and site visits About You * Background as an Electrical Engineer (ideally within food manufacturing) * Experience fault-finding on automated machinery and production lines * Exposure to EPLAN (or strong desire to develop further) * Practical, hands-on electrical experience (panels, wiring, machinery) * Basic understanding of PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi desirable) * Electrically qualified (NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND or equivalent) * Keen to move into a more design-focused role while staying hands-on Why Apply? * Ideal step up from maintenance into design engineering * Blend of hands-on work and technical design responsibility * Work on bespoke, innovative machinery * Clear development pathway into a fully-fledged design role * Supportive, forward-thinking engineering environment Interested?
