Project Controller
Our client, operating within the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Project Controller to join their business on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role is based in Barrow in Furness with a hybrid working arrangement requiring 1-2 days per week on site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the delivery of IT activities aligned to business objectives and overall company strategy. Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and customers by interacting effectively to meet their requirements, including one-to-one liaison, setting expectations, and working to service level agreements.
2. Contribute to the development and delivery of system documentation.
3. Support administration processes for formal audits on data, products, and services, such as collecting evidence.
4. Problem solve and assist with resolution of technical and software application incidents by analyzing data and documentation to identify process issues and provide solutions to support IT service improvement.
5. Perform data modeling activities such as creating reports and conducting basic analysis.
6. Ensure data and records are properly managed and quality controlled, including updating documents in Microsoft packages and related systems.
7. Support management of department budgets and finances, and assist in project development and management.
8. Gather data from various sources and provide information to team and managers via reports and presentations.
9. Support testing and deployment of new applications by following guidelines and instructions.
10. Identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution, including system backups and data restoration.
Job Requirements:
1. Experience in project coordination within the Defence & Security sector.
2. Foundation level of commercial awareness and budget management capability.
3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Working at SFIA level 2 or equivalent.
6. Professional competence and understanding of own capabilities.
7. Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision.
8. Effective stakeholder communication, including with customers, managers, and vendors.
9. Experience in resolving incidents and problems, and identifying trends.
10. Proficiency in diagnostic and analysis techniques for root cause analysis.
11. Ability to benchmark and review ways of working within IT.
12. Must meet security requirements: BPSS and SC clearance.
13. Ability to manage information subject to ITAR and UK restrictions.
14. Hybrid working model, with 1-2 days on site each week.
