Job overview Band 5 Staff Nurse – Gastroenterology – Ward 2 – Permanent, full time, 37.5 hrs/week. Rotational coverage includes days, nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
Deliver safe, high quality nursing care in a busy gastroenterology ward.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues.
Support student nurses and participate in mentoring and teaching programmes.
Attend ongoing in‑service training and professional development opportunities.
Contribute to ward management and support the smooth running of the team.
Person specification Qualifications
NMC Adult Registered Nurse.
Willingness to undertake teaching and assessment qualifications.
Experience
Ability to teach peers within the clinical area.
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Experience of team and ward management (Staff or Student Nurse).
