Job overview
We are seeking a motivated research coordinator at Band 6 level as a London south nervous systems network affiliated research nurse/coordinator as a replacement post to work within the neuroscience division at KCH and the International Centre of Excellence in Parkinson’s care and research. The successful applicant will work initially until the end of March 2024 across several sub-specialities, mainly with the Parkinson’s Foundation international centre of excellence, neurodegenerative disorders, and potentially with other neurology departments. Responsibilities include assisting with research and clinical trial studies listed in the Department of Health national portfolio and within the remit of nervous systems disorders. The post reports to Professor K Ray Chaudhuri and the Neuroscience Research Manager, Alexandra Rizos, and may involve work in the neurosciences clinical trials unit led by Mr. K. Ashkan. Experience in clinical research and knowledge of GCP is required.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities
* Work with site investigators and clinical specialist nurses to introduce and initiate clinical trial work.
* Identify suitable patients for clinical trials through clinics and MDT meetings.
* Ensure patients are fully informed prior to trial participation.
* Assist in consenting, randomising, and treatment allocation as per protocols.
* Document all relevant information in medical notes.
* Complete Case Report Forms accurately.
* Coordinate and computerise trial data.
* Adhere to GCP principles and submit amendments to regulatory bodies.
* Maintain the Trial Master File with essential documents.
* Report Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) as per protocol and SOPs.
