Positioned within the commercial team, you will be right in the centre of a fast-paced team, working closely with the go-to-market team, building strong relationships with our supplier partners. As a Senior Category Buyer, you need extensive buying and management experience, as you will be responsible for high-turnover, complex categories, leading a team of direct reports.
As a senior buyer, you will support the development of the wider team, ensuring we have a capable and committed team who understand their role in delivering the company vision ‘we help everyone enjoy amazing technology’. You will also delegate for the head of category in meetings when required.

* Managing all category supplier relationships in line with our overall commercial supplier strategy and the category strategy
* Developing credible relationships with suppliers and creating sourcing strategies to bring the best ranges to customers, supported by availability, while minimizing NET cost of goods
* Understanding the future technology roadmap with suppliers to plan ahead for changes in customer trends and demand
* Negotiating product ranges, cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, and stock availability
* Negotiating financial terms related to ranging, activity, and performance to maximize EBIT
* Pricing the product range in line with category CPI targets
* Working with merchandising to forecast accurately to maximize sales and stock turn
* Providing and reviewing team members’ objectives, supporting their professional development, and ensuring talent plans are in place
* Joint ownership of trading the SIM Free category, including writing trading strategies and delivering sales, margin, and market share budgets
Skills and Knowledge:
* Substantial buying experience within FMCG/Fashion or Hard Goods retail
* Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier partnerships at different levels of seniority
* Customer-focused with excellent commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs
* Proficiency in SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
