This is a varied, hands‑on role with a 50/50 split between production engineering and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations, improving production efficiency, and ensuring machinery and equipment are maintained to minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Production Engineering
* Support and improve day‑to‑day manufacturing processes
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste
* Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions
* Support process optimisation, tooling improvements, and production line performance
* Work closely with production and quality teams to achieve operational targets
Maintenance Engineering
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
* Respond to machine breakdowns and conduct fault‑finding activities
* Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on manufacturing equipment
* Reduce downtime through effective troubleshooting and preventative measures
* Assist with machinery installation, upgrades, and commissioning
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
* Strong maintenance engineering and fault‑finding experience
* Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background
* Experience supporting production and process improvement activities
* Good understanding of health & safety within manufacturing
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Engineering qualification preferred (NVQ/HNC/HND or equivalent)
