SEN Teaching Assistant – Stockport (Full-Time, September Start)

Pay: £89–£95 per day (depending on experience)
Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a committed and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner secondary schools in Stockport from September. This role is best suited for individuals who have experience supporting young people with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
The school has a strong and inclusive SEN department, and you will be supported by the SENCO and teaching staff to deliver personalised learning strategies and help pupils thrive both academically and socially.
Responsibilities Include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with EHCPs or additional learning needs
* Assisting class teachers in differentiating learning resources
* Encouraging pupil engagement and developing confidence and independence
* Promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing across all school activities
* Liaising with parents, SENCO and outside professionals where needed
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school or similar setting
* A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to support
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, psychology or education degrees) desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
