Maintenance Engineer, SudburyFMCG Manufacturing + Day shifts!Salary: Circa £54,000 per annum
Our client is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team at a fast-paced manufacturing site in Sudbury. This role sits within a strategic factory team working with a range of equipment—from robotics to high-speed production machinery. You’ll report directly to the Maintenance Manager and collaborate closely with a tight-knit team, benefiting from both global resources and the supportive environment of a local site.
A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Engineer
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in executing the factory’s asset maintenance programme. Your focus will be on reducing unplanned downtime, optimising maintenance costs and driving asset performance to world-class standards in safety, quality, cost, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance to uphold machine condition.
* Respond to breakdowns and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Champion a safety-first culture and proactively eliminate risks.
* Ensure all engineering work meets GMP standards and follows safe systems of work.
* Maintain compliance with quality policies, including engineering change management and line release.
* Record breakdowns, conduct root cause analysis, and own follow-up actions.
* Support RCA practices and improvement projects.
* Mentor and support shift technicians, apprentice technicians and the Autonomous Maintenance team in line with the site’s TPM roadmap.
What Will Make You Successful?
To thrive in this role, you’ll ideally have experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment, with a proactive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements:
* NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent (Electrical bias preferred)
* Proven experience in Planned & Preventative Maintenance
* Strong problem-solving skills and methodology
