Qualified Social Worker – Duty & Assessment Team Greater Manchester
£38 per hour
Are you an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker looking for your next challenge? We’re recruiting for a Duty & Assessment role within a supportive and dynamic team that’s committed to making a real difference in children’s lives.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced frontline team working with children and families at the earliest stage of involvement. You’ll complete Child and Family Assessments, working collaboratively with professionals from health, police, and education to achieve the best outcomes. Your focus will be on sustainable, positive change and early intervention, connecting families with the right support as soon as possible.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Carrying out Child & Family Assessments with a strong focus on analysis, planning, and reviewing outcomes
2. Supporting children and families subject to CIN, Child Protection, and Court proceedings
3. Working closely with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote their welfare
4. Managing a varied caseload with autonomy and accountability
5. Engaging in direct work with children, building meaningful relationships to inform your practice
6. Contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
7. Participating in regular supervision and reflective group practice
What we’re looking for:
8. Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
9. 4+ years' post-qualifying experience in children’s social care
10. Strong working knowledge of Child Protection legislation
11. Skilled in risk assessment, care planning, and multi-agency working
12. Able to work creatively, flexibly, and collaboratively
13. Excellent communicator with strong mediation and negotiation skills
14. Passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives
