The R&D facility is located on the same site as the UK Headquarters, where there is a manufacturing plant. The UK & Ireland business employs over 240 employees. And now we are looking for people who want to develop in an international company for an industrial placement. Start up TBC, preferably between June-August 2026. Jotun’s Research and Development department is developing technically complex coating technology for decorative, marine, protective and powder coating applications. The R&D lab in Scunthorpe is mostly focusing on Intumescent products. We are working with development of paint products, evaluation and characterization of paint films, colloidal mixtures, polymers and more. As an industrial placement in our laboratories, your work would include small projects involving making and testing coating formulations, report findings in written report and presentation. Working alongside chemists and technicians in our product laboratories making to improve paint performance and reduce environmental impact and/or health risks of our new products. Ability to understand and analyse complex issues and problems and demonstrate knowledge in your own area.
