Overview
The post-holder is a highly experienced, state registered Senior Biomedical Scientist who performs scientific investigations in the diagnosis of infectious diseases. The role also includes managing the information and computer systems used by the Microbiology service.
Responsibilities
* Involved in the daily supervision of Biomedical Scientists and support staff.
* Has technical responsibility for a section of the laboratory; takes charge of a section of work and will supervise and train qualified and unqualified staff.
* May also work unsupervised as part of the 24/7 service.
