Job Title: Senior Support Worker Salary : £26,617 per annum (£13.65 per hour) Location: Ripon Hours: 37.5 United Response are seeking a full-time Lead Senior Support Worker for our Service in Ripon. Requirements: Experience in complex needs You will be required to work evening, weekend, and sleep-in shifts, so flexibility is essential. Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care; NVQ Level 5 preferred. Previous experience in a senior support role. We are a small, friendly care home supporting five young adults with physical and learning disabilities, both in their home and out in the local community. You’ll be joining a strong, stable, and supportive staff team, led by a proactive and approachable manager, in a positive, fun, and person-centred environment. Our support workers are the heart of everything we do. We want you to empower the people we support to live their lives how they want to, whether that’s travelling the world or spending time in their local park! All we ask is that you have the commitment and drive to encourage and guide the people we support to make this happen. This position is all about building relationships with the people you will be supporting while helping them with their day-to-day routine in line with their personal support plans such as dressing, personal care, finances, medication, attending any appointments along with employment, Volunteering and hobbies. As a Lead Senior Support Worker, you’ll be pivotal in supporting individuals with daily living, safeguarding their wellbeing, and helping them achieve their aspirations. You’ll also take on senior responsibilities, including leading teams, supervising staff, and ensuring quality support services. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored, person-centred support to individuals based on their unique needs and goals. Support daily activities like budgeting, cooking, personal care (if required), and community engagement. Build and maintain positive relationships with family, friends, and other professionals. Lead handovers, supervise staff, and assist with scheduling and rota management. Model best practices and help induct and mentor team members. Safeguard vulnerable adults, report concerns, and follow safeguarding procedures. Maintain accurate records, including financial documentation and support plans. What skills you will bring: Experience in social care or supporting individuals. Supervisory experience and the ability to motivate a team. NVQ Level 3 in Care (or willingness to achieve it). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic IT and numerical skills. Passion for promoting dignity, respect, and independence. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and nights.
