We are recruiting for an Operations Supervisor to join a growing manufacturing business where you will play a key role in driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement across the operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and ensuring production targets are achieved in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Role
As Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day manufacturing operation, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
You will work closely with production, quality, engineering, and management teams to ensure resources, equipment, and processes are aligned to support business objectives and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise day-to-day manufacturing activitiesPromote and maintain a strong health and safety culture across the operationConduct safety inspections and support risk assessment activitiesDrive quality standards and ensure compliance with operational proceduresManage staff performance, training, and developmentCoordinate resources to ensure production plans are achievedMonitor productivity and operational performance against KPIsSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, cost, and deliveryManage work-in-progress (WIP), materials, and product control processesSupport new product introduction (NPI) activities and operational readinessFacilitate problem-solving activities to minimise downtime and improve efficiencyWork closely with internal departments to support business objectivesThe Candidate
The successful candidate will have previous experience leading teams within a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
You will be a proactive and organised leader with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Experience Required
Previous experience as an Operations Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Team Leader, Shift Manager, or similarExperience leading and developing operational teamsStrong understanding of manufacturing and production environmentsExperience managing health and safety activities, including risk assessments and safe working practicesKnowledge of quality processes, non-conformance management, and continuous improvementExperience delivering production targets and operational KPIsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDesirable
IOSH qualification or similar health and safety trainingHNC/HND in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related disciplineExperience implementing Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement initiativesPrevious involvement in new product introduction (NPI) projectsWhat's on Offer?
