Import Manager,
to be based at offices in the
London Heathrow
area.

Main Purpose of the role:
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Import Manager will manage the import department, handling approx. 75% air freight and 25% sea freight operations along with leading a team of 3 staff members.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Import Manager:
 * Review job costing of Import job files and assist Branch Manager with Month End reporting procedures.
 * Assist with review and reporting of Outstanding D/V / Cash account lists and Unbilled D/V list.
 * Pro-active management of general day-to-day Air & Sea Import operation.
 * Allocation and distribution of workload to Import staff.
 * Co-ordinating import freight movements with overseas offices, airlines and shipping lines.
 * Customer service and Key Account Managing responsibilities to include client visits & corporate hospitality.
 * Introduction and allocation of account managers for all new business.
 * To ensure Key Customer SOP's are maintained.
 * Resolution of Customer queries in timely manner.
 * Completion of Import Customs clearances and to ensure that ETSF & NCTS movements are coordinated in line with HMRC regulations.
 * Arranging transport for collection and delivery of import cargo.
 * To ensure Import Accounting procedures are completed within Company parameters and team is operating with Company's credit policy.
 * Co-ordination of staff to provide weekend cover, along with sufficient holiday & sickness cover for your department.
 * Plan & execute regular structured meetings with Import team and liaise with Branch Manager on the progress of the department.
 * Identify the training requirements of Import staff and actively encourage their development. To include Multi Modal cross-training.
 * Assist Management team with department development and growth.
 * Assist with the recruitment and selection of staff for Import team.
 * Issuing of Import quotations to clients & overseas partners where required.
 * Operational and Developmental liaison with overseas offices.
 * Generating and follow up of Import sales leads with CS & UK Sales teams.
To Be Considered:
 * Proven experience of working within an air import environment working directly for a freight forwarder
 * Ability to work under pressure in a busy working environment
 * Be able to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively
 * Have a good working knowledge of ASM/Sequoia/WebCargo
